Today I’m 30. It’s strange to even write that sentence. I never imagined myself in my 30s. For some reason I just thought, “Oh, yeah, some day I’ll be 30.” But I never thought that day would arrive.
Well, that day has arrived today, amidst a horrible thunderstorm and torrential rain. Is it a sign? =) Maybe just a little symbol of my reluctance to turn 30. =)
I have thoroughly enjoyed my 20s. I graduated from a small technical college and started working professionally as a freelance court reporter. I was delighted to be hired by one of the best court reporting firms in our city. I met and married my wonderful husband in my 20s. I started knitting with gusto in my 20s and then launched into designing in my late 20s. I started my own teeny, tiny business in my 20s. And I had my wonderful little boy in my 20s.
It makes me wonder how in the world can it get any better? Which also makes me think — oh, I’d love to stay in my 20s my whole entire life! =)
And yet… how was I to know all the wonderful things that awaited me in my 20s until I lived them?
So here I go, with all the bravery I can muster, into my 30s!

Happy (belated) birthday! I will be turning 30 in 4 months. I’ve enjoyed my 20s as well. Graduated from college, got a good job in my field, got married (started dating DH at 19), and purchased a house. Also did some wonderful traveling and have some truly wonderful friends. I’m hoping 30s will be a wonderful chapter in life, so I wish you the best!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Allow me to assure you the your 30′s will be wonderful! The 20′s were for finishing the growing up process and now you can move forward on all those wonderful projects you started then: marriage, family, knitting business, and continued writing through your blog and pattern venues.
