Making cookies and packaging them up for friends and neighbors…
taking walks to Starbucks when all this Christmas prep gets to be too much…
and staying up way too late to work on last minute projects, menus and gift wrapping.
I made what I hope is the last shop before the holiday weekend. The stores were so crowded. It’s just that time of year.
I have some lovely knitted things to show you… but I must wait until after Christmas.
hope you all are doing well!

Tonight I’m down in my “Elving” den trying desperately to knock out a few more presents. Why do I have so much fun making presents? I don’t know.
Took many trips down memory lane today as I attended the funeral of an amazing woman. Put things in perspective. Remembered what is truly important in life. It was good for the soul.

Don’t you love that word, “Elving?” It seems to capture so much of the fun and whimsy in creating gifts. I adore the word.
I’ve been busy Elving… not as much as I would like, but that’s okay… I have a two year old boy to run after… that keeps you moving!
These are some fingerless gloves I’ve been working on for my for my sister-in-laws. Their mom gave me an old sweater of hers and as she handed it over she said, “John’s (her husband, JK’s dad – there are a lot of John’s in this family) father gave that to me one Christmas early on in our marriage. I really liked the sweater.” I could tell that she really liked it… so… I thought of making something for her two girls as a little keepsake memento. After all, their grandfather had given the sweater to their mother.
Now I have to work on the second pair and them get them in the post! It’s almost Christmas!

I realized we haven’t had too many “current” knitting projects… so here’s a peek at something I’m presently working on. I’ll have to tell you more about it when it’s finished….
But today…. the last day of the Christmas Pattern Sale… the two patterns that are 50% off are: Pearl Street Scarf and Summer Lace
I hope you enjoy them and I hope you had fun with the pattern sale!
